Why Is My Skin Oily, Congested and Still Breaking Out?

Why Is My Skin Oily, Congested and Still Breaking Out?

• 5 minute read

Your skin feels oily by lunchtime. Your pores look more visible. You are dealing with congestion or recurring breakouts—so you cleanse more, use stronger products or skip hydration altogether.

Yet your skin still does not feel balanced.

For oily and acne-prone skin, the answer is not necessarily more products or a harsher routine. It is a consistent approach that removes excess surface oil and buildup, refines the look of congested skin, and keeps hydration light and comfortable.

That is the thinking behind the UR Clear & Balanced Skin Ritual.

Why UR Clear & Balanced Skin Ritual works

The problem: oily skin can become overwhelmed

Excess surface oil, daily impurities, makeup residue and dead skin-cell buildup can leave skin looking shiny, uneven or congested. It can be tempting to strip skin back completely—but overly aggressive routines can leave it feeling tight and uncomfortable.

And oily skin can still be dehydrated. When skin feels tight, dull or less comfortable, it needs lightweight hydration—not necessarily a heavy finish.

The solution is to keep the routine simple: cleanse consistently, use a targeted mineral mask and follow with a water-based hyaluronic serum.

Step 1: Cleanse away excess surface oil and daily buildup

Anti-Imperfections Cleansing Gel is the first step in the ritual.

This refreshing cleansing gel removes excess surface oil, daily impurities and makeup residue. Its fruit-derived AHA blend—including sugar cane, sugar maple, orange, lemon and bilberry extracts—supports gentle surface exfoliation to help skin look clearer and smoother over time.

Use morning and evening. Apply to damp skin, massage gently for around 30 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Step 2: Refine the look of congested skin

Two to three times a week, follow your cleanse with Vesuvio Mineral Face Mask.

Volcanic soil and sea silt help absorb excess surface oil, while mung bean seed powder supports exfoliation for a smoother-looking texture. Glycerin, panthenol, sodium PCA, sodium hyaluronate, green tea and chamomile help keep the experience balanced and comfortable.

Apply a medium layer, avoiding the eye area. Leave for up to 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Once skin feels more balanced, reduce use to once or twice a week according to your individual needs.

Step 3: Hydrate without a heavy finish

Follow with Concentrated Hyaluronic Serum on damp skin.

This lightweight, water-based formula combines Hydrolysed Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate and Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer. It adds a comfortable hydration layer for oily and acne-prone skin without a rich or greasy-feeling finish.

Apply a few drops to the face and neck after cleansing—or after rinsing your mask—then follow with your preferred moisturiser.
